Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF), Space Warfighting Analysis Center in Crystal City/Arlington, VA is searching for a Chief for the Analytics Integration Division, Force Design Integration Office
(NH-0801-04, GS14/15 equivalent).
Description:
The Analysis Integration Division Chief is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership to a team of highly experienced engineers and analysts that is responsible for maintaining SWACs analytic baseline & processes; developing and maintaining Joint digital engineering system models; conducting joint mission level analysis to identify gaps and prioritize future capability recommendations; integrate and represent SWAC's future capabilities in Service, OSD, Joint Staff, and Combat Command analytic tools, analysis and fora. This position will be responsible for completing the stand-up of this Division.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes and directs the activities of a highly experienced geographically distributed multi-disciplinary analytic teams (primary Colorado Springs and National Capital Region).
- Coordinates sharing of digital engineering models and model-based system engineering data across DoD and IC organizations at multiple levels of security.
- Directs, designs, and conducts analysis to transform space system architectures to meet future warfighting needs.
- Collaborates with DAF, SAF, Joint Staff, and other DoD analytic organizations to integrate space capabilities in Campaign models and analyses
- Supervises teams to include the conduct of hiring actions, submission of appraisals, and management of workforce development and training.
- Delivers organization recommendations and Force Design findings to senior officials across the DoD through oral and written presentations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Graduate degree in engineering, physics, remote sensing, or related technical field is required.
- Current TS//SCI or current single scope background investigation is required.
- Consent to polygraph required.
- Current Drug Testing is required.
- Periodic travel will be required.
- Experience with space-based systems analysis and/or operations is required.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary, highly technical, teams is highly desired.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and editing technical reports and briefings is highly desired.
- Experience with force design, analysis of alternatives, modeling, simulation, analysis to include parametric assessments, scenario-based simulation, and cost assessment is highly desired.
- Current (within 5 years) CI polygraph highly desired.
- Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) is desired.
- Familiarity with DoD requirements and budget processes is desired.
- Experience briefing highly technical topics to senior leaders is desired.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Ability and willingness to meet or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification requirements applicable to the career category designated on the position description within 24 months of assignment or secure an approved waiver.
