The CDC utilizes Direct Hire Authority to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Applications may be periodically referred to hiring managers both during the open period and after the closing date. This public notice covers positions managing, supervising, leading, and/or performing professional medical work. This public notice will be used to fill STEM positions listed below at the GS-11 through GS-15 grade levels.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position OR
Combination of education & experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as above, plus appropriate experience or additional education
In addition to Basic Qualifications above, Minimum Qualifications must be met:
GS-11:
At least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
1 year of specialized experience (GS-9 equivalent) OR
A combination of education & experience
GS-12 & above:
At least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level
Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
