About the Position: This position is mostly at the Presidio of Monterey Army Health Clinic with the possibility of also serving patients at the MG Gourley clinic in Marina. The hours are typically 0700 - 1600 with a 1 hour lunch. Hours are flexible if it benefits our patient population. Applicant can expect to develop a counseling program focused on brief interventions. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Consult with the Primary Care Manager on behavioral health patients and offer brief intervention counseling services on a limited basis prior to- or in conjunction with a referral to a formal behavioral health program. Provide targeted assessment and evaluation, including diagnostic impressions and functional status focused on the presenting problem. Provide timely and succinct feedback to Primary Care Manager's (PCMs) regarding consultations findings and recommendations. Assist with implementation and monitoring of treatment plans with Primary Care Manager's (PCMs) and Behavorial Health Case Manager's ( BHCMs). Use objective and measurable outcomes to evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments as appropriate. Work as a primary care team member to develop specific clinical pathways or best practice programs for targeted patient groups (e.g., patients with acute stress symptoms and PTSD). Perform bio-psychosocial assessments on behavioral health patients to determine a diagnosis.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
• Immunization Screening is required.
• Tuberculosis Test is required.
• Require Pre-Employment Physical.
• Lifting requirement up to 40 LBS.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical) Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. You must submit a copy of your transcript. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations, providing individual or group clinical counseling, intervention therapy or familiarity with the Internal Behavioral Health Consultant role and developing treatment plans and/or recommendations for behavioral health patients. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. You must submit a copy of your license.
