About the Position: This position serves as a Multimedia Information Specialist for the US Army Accessions Command, USAREC at Fort Knox, KY.
Duties
Acts as a multimedia specialist using video editing programs to create videos suitable for viewing and any format.
Uses photographic, computer graphic, digital imaging, and multimedia equipment to design, develop, acquire, document, or Integrate advertising messaging for the US Army Accessions Command.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge on multimedia and digital equipment to ensure the highest quality is being presented.
Uses software to create digitized clips to incorporate the final product into a multimedia presentation via Adobe Premier and other video editing programs.
Establishes and maintains standards and work processes to ensure that multimedia programs and delivery strategies are utilized effectively and efficiently.
Serves as program manager for G7 Visual Information and Advertising cell.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that the employee temporarily travels away from their normal duty station up to 25% of the time for work, training and/or conferences.
- Applicant/employee must be able to lift 50lbs and successfully take and pass a physical examination prior to entry on duty.
- This position may ask the incumbent to work hours outside the normal administrative work week, e.g., weekends, holidays, evenings to cover events not scheduled during regular hours.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must pass an eye exam—be able to determine colors, depth, and texture.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Using video editing programs to create videos suitable for viewing in any format; 2)Using photographic, computer graphic, digital imaging, and multimedia equipment to design, develop, acquire, document, or integrate advertising messaging; designs graphics to be used for example on: brochures, pamphlets, banners, posters, cards, social media, and websites; 3) Using software to create digitized clips to incorporate the final product into a multimedia presentation such as Adobe Premier or other video editing programs; 4) Experience in capturing documentary video and sound footage using sounds and lighting techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS 07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: media, graphic design, film theory, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
