This position serves as a Property Management Specialist (PMS) for the Forest Service and provides technical and analytical expertise for the acquisition, management, utilization and disposal of property to include personal, real and quarters.

Duties
Responsibilities are listed at the full-performance level.
Represents the Property Management Officer (PMO) at various meetings for property and quarters related actions.
Composes formal and informal written communications for property and quarters management activities.
Provide service and expertise for the acquisition, management, utilization and disposal of property.
Coordinates, plans, and manages real and personal property inventories.
Arranges for inspection, transfer, repair, packing, and transportation of property.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-5 level: Applicants must have three years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level; OR a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree; OR appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Examples of qualifying experience include experience that may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work and demonstrated the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
For the GS-7 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level; OR one full year of graduate level education; OR an appropriate combination of graduate level education and specialized experience; OR Superior Academic Achievement (go to this site determine if you are eligible: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Examples of specialized experience are: Performs property management duties, including assisting with inventories, managing property records, and/or disposing of or excessing property.
For the GS-9 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level; OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Examples of specialized experience are: Performs a variety of routine property management duties, including reviewing proposed property acquisitions, assisting with inventories, managing property records, and disposing of or excessing property; provides advice on technical matters pertaining to personal and real property and quarters management; coordinates and manages real and personal property inventories; reviews policies and procedures for program conformance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
