As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Position is a Supervisory Aviation Safety Inspector (Branch Manager) for the Emerging Technologies Division, Technologies & Standards Branch, AFS-730
Duties
Responsible for aviation safety activities in a complex and dynamic air carrier and/or general aviation environment that includes experience in one or more of the following specialties: Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, Aircraft Dispatch, Cabin Safety or Rotorcraft-Helicopter. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and ensures the promotion of the highest level of safety compliance with regulatory standards while utilizing transparency of data exchange that includes the identification of hazards and management of risk.

Qualifications
Minimum Eligibility Requirements For All Positions:General Requirements for All Positions:Not more than two separate incidents involving Federal aviation regulations violations in the last 5 years;Valid State driver's license;Fluency in the English language;No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance; andHigh school diploma or equivalent.Medical Requirements for All Positions:Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviation Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes extensive participation in certification, inspection, and surveillance as it relates to Air Carrier or General Aviation Operations, Avionics, Maintenance, Aircraft Dispatch, Cabin Safety or Rotorcraft-Helicopter. Skill in applying laws and regulations to inspection, investigation and enforcement, and/or compliance work. Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to agency management and other senior agents, officers, or inspectors on critical operations. Experience in developing, delivering and overseeing delivery of complex subjects to a wide range of internal or external audiences. Advanced knowledge of budget, human resource and other administrative policies and procedures. Identifying problem areas. Developing and recommending new policies and procedures for resolution. Managerial and leadership skills. Effective communication with a variety of individuals and groups.
