Duties
Identifies and recommends areas of improvement related to the established processes/methods used in collecting and reporting of required clinic operating data.
Acts as the data quality program representative for the MTF, meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.
Gathers information from multiple data sources and a variety of data collection techniques using standard automated information retrieval systems and reports, Internet-based sources, ad hoc reports, and interviews with personnel.
Serves as the organization’s subject matter expert for development and implementation of programs and projects that focus on improving/correcting business practices that impact data quality at various levels of the organization.
Develops graphical presentations of statistical data, as well as composite material involving data and other types of material for briefings, studies, publications, and routine reports.
Applies DHA and MHS Standards to provide guidance for all levels of the organization’s staff concerning data quality.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing administrative operations in a health care setting; utilizing heath care system databases to enter and retrieve data; and implementing administrative directives and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
