About the Position: This is a Supervisory Natural Resources Specialist, GS-0401-11, with the USACE Little Rock District, Operations Division. The position is with the MILLWOOD TRI LAKES PROJECT OFFICE, Located at DIERKS, AR.

Duties

Coordinate development of Natural Resource phases of the Operational Plan (OMP), Master Plan (MP), Environmental Initiatives, and special studies. Responsibility includes, but is not limited to, training subordinates, correcting hazardous conditions, and advocating improvements. Serves as point of contact for public relations to promote acceptance, understanding, and compliance with Corps of Engineers policies objectives and to meet the needs of the general public Coordinates and seeks cooperation with the general public, elected and appointed officials, Federal, State, and local agencies, civic, social and religious organizations, and law enforcement authorities on matters of mutual interest and concern. Reviews Title 36 collateral forfeiture schedule and submits change recommendations to the Park Manager.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Qualifications Requirements: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes performing at least 2 of the following 3 duties: (1) implementing plans for at least one of the following natural resources programs; fish/wildlife management, forestry and/or vegetation management, or rangeland and/or soil conservation. OR (2) coordinating public recreation programs such as oversight for recreation areas and/or access points at a multi-purpose lake/project. OR (3) Participating in a flood risk management mission, to include operation and/or maintenance of critical infrastructure. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
