This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Portsmouth, Comptroller/Base Operations Department in Portsmouth, VA.
Duties
This position is responsible for financial systems, budget, and accounting operations duties and providing oversight for technical duties in the finance & accounting functional areas. The position reports to the Comptroller and acts as the Comptroller in their absence. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-12 Grade Level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 grade level in the Federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Guiding and preparing/collecting required information for designated fund control representatives
Collecting, clarifying, and consolidating program requests for funding, scalability, narrative justification, and impacts to funding decrements
Comparing obligations and expenditures with program budgets
Providing analytical reports of reconciliation issues, including volume of inconsistencies, delays in processing, and facilitates corrective actions.
