About the Position: This position is to be filled at either the San Antonio, Texas or Falls Church, Virginia location.
Salary negotiation may be available for those new to Federal service.
Duties
Exercises full and independent management of the financial, managerial accounting and reporting activities for PEO MS/CIO (J-6).
Responsible for planning, assessing, programming, budgeting, managing, executing, directing, and coordinating resource management activities for assigned Divisions with J6 Directorate.
Directs special studies leading to recommendations for new and changed functions of program areas including but not limited to, budgeting, financial planning, financial analysis, financial forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
Coordinates resource management activities.
Provides advice and guidance concerning financial management long- and short-range goals; budget execution; advice and guidance on budget financial management issues; resolving problems affecting budget execution; new policy development.
Exercises the full range of supervisory authority in regard to assignment of projects and tasks for personnel, delegating authority and responsibilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is subject to a one-year supervisory probationary period.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes formulating policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of information management/IT financial statements, developing long-range financial program requirements, monitoring the program's budget, and delegating projects and tasks to subordinates.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
