The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance, administrative and office automation services in order to collect, maintain, compile, store, and report student training statistics in support of the organization's mission and functions.
Duties
Provides computer accounting for the Survival Training Students Accounting System and the Air Fore Training Management System.
Maintains prior 10 years training, scheduling and graduation records for all survival courses per CCAF guidelines. In-processes military, civilian and international students and instructor trainee personnel.
Prepares background documentation of actions for reassignment, reclassification or rescheduling of students as a results of removal from training. Assists International Military Student Officer (IMSO) in the administration of all international students trained by all commands at Fairchild AFB IAW established guidelines.
Initiates training review board actions for students as a result of disciplinary actions, poor performance, etc.
Prepares messages using dedicated message software, and develops letters and special orders from rough drafts, brief verbal instructions or of own design.

- Travel and relocation expenses will NOT be paid.
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes preparation and distribution of reports and relating training records. Proofs and audits course trainings status reports ensuring accuracy of product and corrects STSAS rejected transactions. Monitors the Flying Training Document and balances it with dates and class sizes in the AF training Management System. Identifies, documents, and researches computer difficulties in software and/or hardware and implements coordinated solutions.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of rules, procedures, policies, and programs of the Student Administration office to perform the collection and maintenance of the statistical training information. Knowledge of preparing and editing documents and assembling statistical information for transition to various internal and external users. Knowledge of various automated systems and software programs to perform terminal input and retrieval and research methods.
Knowledge of office automation technology to generate reports briefings, materials, and performs other administrative work of the organization.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and required formats and directives regarding preparation of written communications to produce administrative documents and communications.
Knowledge of spreadsheet, databases, communications and full range of word processing software functions, processes and capabilities.
Skill in typing, a qualified typist is required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
