This EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST position, is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), State Surface Maintenance Management Office and is part of the CA SMM HQ.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1670-9, is to provide instruction and assistance to state unit personnel regarding Army National Guard (ARNG) equipment and maintenance management. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methods of equipment maintenance and management of a variety of ARNG equipment is required.

Qualifications

General Experience: Possess experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment; Experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology; Basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment; Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical publications; Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment; Experience using computer and automation systems. EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST, GS-1670-9: Must have at least 24 months experience which provided knowledge and skill in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design; Experience in the use of tools and test equipment; Experience developing, installing, inspecting or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques.
