This position is located in the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Office of Administration (OA), Space and Facilities Management Staff (SFMS). SFMS provides overall planning, management, and direction of both real property space and facilities management programs and personal property and logistics.
This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.
Duties
The Building Management Specialist serves as a liaison for building management activities for an assigned group of Immigration Courts. The Building Management Specialist monitors the maintenance, repair, safety, renovations and alterations within EOIR space. The Building Management Specialist is also responsible for securing and maintaining appropriate levels of support services related to heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water and janitorial and custodial service within EOIR space.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for the Building Management Specialist position, you must meet the following time in grade requirements and minimum qualifications:
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Please submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. If your eligibility for both merit promotion and/or time-in-grade cannot be determined, your application will be rated ineligible. Please see Required Documents for additional information). Time-in-grade requirements also apply to VEOA applicants having held a GS position in the past year.
FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
Maintaining tacit knowledge of facilities, utilities, and installed equipment for an organization;
Coordinating building operational requirements with various service providers;
Helping analyze service request data to identify trends and develop solutions to solve ongoing problems with facilities, equipment, and/or building systems; and
Coordinating actions to develop and manage small post occupancy projects.
