About the Position: This position is with HQDA US Army Inspector General Agency located in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Ensure that critical data information is accurately developed, classified, stored, safeguarded, and/or provide to others in accordance with regulations.
Prepare and staff formal responses to records screen requests for approval by leadership.
Conduct analyses of critical/sensitive data and identify potential adverse information on senior and non-senior officials and members of the SES.
Write, review and/or make minor edits to executive synopses (EXSUMS), summaries and amendments of all substantiated allegations and ongoing inquiries/investigations being conducted by the division.
Review and/or provide comments for updating various regulatory documents pertaining to senior official records screens.
Ensure that proper authorities have approved IG findings on all whistleblower and mental health cases.
Oversee and/or process requests for information that are personal in nature pertaining to complainants, subjects, suspects, and/or witnesses.
Oversee and prepare reports as required utilizing the various IG record databases.
Screen, monitor, and/or prepare reports of Inspector General records for potential adverse information.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 10 pounds is required.
- Applicants referred for consideration will be subject to a database check against the Army Inspector General Action Request (IGARS) database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigations.
- A social security number (SSN) is required to conduct the background investigation; applicants must supply their SSN when asked by the hiring authority.
- Must be able to obtain an Inspector General (IG) certificate from the Inspector General School upon completion of the three week IG Training. Incumbent is subject to removal if unable to obtain certification at the end of training.
- US Citizenship is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting analysis of critical/sensitive data and identifying potential information on leadership; preparing formal responses to records screen requests for approval by leadership; overseeing and/or processing requests for information pertaining to complainants, suspects, and/or witnesses; and assisting in overseeing and/or preparing reports as required utilizing various Inspector General (IG) record databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
