The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Production Controller for 354 Maintenance performing a variety of production planning, scheduling and material technician tasks in direct support of maintenance programs and operations. These operations include the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of various complex weapon systems including fixed wing aircraft as well as engines, exchangeable, other major end items, a variety of associated assets. THIS IS A 36 MONTH TOUR.
Duties
Researches, analyzes, plans, and initiates job acceptance for squadron workloads. As the Production Controller of 354 Maintenance, develops new/modifies work schedules as required, due to changes in mission, priorities, or internal /external customer requirements.
Manages the 354 Maintenance shop capacity and calculates and establishes shop workload mixture in systems to control input to maintenance.
Monitors 354 Maintenance shop operations, determines work priorities, and manages assets in-work.
Provides material management support to production operations by ordering parts and material.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. .Examples of specialized experience includes developing and implementing aircraft maintenance work plans and schedules to ensure the effective and efficient accomplishment of required maintenance and coordination in support of unit operational flight scheduling.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time--in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of military aircraft, manufacturing technology and all assigned equipment. Maintains the ability to interpret military technical orders, data, standards, and instructions and effectively relates. them properly to the control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up.
2. Knowledge of inspections, repair, modification, and supply process. Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain a balance of work. Knowledge of assigned equipment.
3. Knowledge and skill of appropriate production and technical processes and material posture of
maintenance work centers to ensure continuing availability of material requirement. Knowledge of total quality management methodology, tools, and technique.
4. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems (MIS) and
maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions.
5. Skill in effective written and oral communication.
6. Skill in planning workloads, scheduling and balancing both planning and unplanned workloads, maintaining production schedules and preventing or alleviating production delays. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
