About the Position: This position supports the mission of the DHA J-1 Enterprise Administration and Systems Integration Division, Records Management Branch, and it is located in Falls Church, VA.

Duties
Serve as a Records and Information Management Specialist, applying specialized knowledge of records management program disciplines, to assist with the management, oversight, direction, and evaluation of the records management program for DHA.
Identify procedures and methodologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the life cycle management of the organization's records and documentation.
Participate in the preparation of policy directives to execute National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), DOD, and DHA records management policies and procedures.
Provide assistance and technical advice to stakeholders enterprise-wide or as directed by the supervisor, on maintenance and disposition of records.
Develop a Records Management training program to include using Microsoft TEAMS to conduct virtual monthly training for Records Liaisons, customized training for agency specific areas, and ad-hoc training for all time zones across CONUS and OCONUS.
Develop/coordinate a multi-day seminar (face to face or virtual) for managed care contractors that support claims processing for the TRICARE health plan.
Conduct specialized training, virtual or in person, sessions and briefings for DHA employees and contractors on records/information management.
Participate in enterprise-wide committees, boards, focus groups and other entities organized to share information and improve the management of records.
Coordinate the proper disposition of records consistent with NARA, DoD, and DHA policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting periodic compliance reviews/inspections of the records management practices of the agency; 2) ensuring that records are safely maintained and disposed of in accordance with organization and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) or other applicable guidance; and 3) researching and evaluating guidelines or regulations to make recommendations for changes to records management processes and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
