You will serve as an AIRCRAFT EXAMINER (AIRCRAFT MECHANIC) in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPT, FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will use inspection criteria, technical specifications, engineering instructions, and maintenance manuals to analyze and evaluate aircraft. You will interpret blueprints, detailed specifications, or technical directives to determine rework required on aircraft or components. You will plan and estimate the manpower, materials, support equipment, facilities, and technical information needed to support aircraft repair workload requirements. You will adjust aircraft system components or parts to verify repair work complies with prescribed procedures. You will determine adjustments, repairs, or replacements required to correct aircraft malfunctions. You will inspect aircraft system components or parts for serviceability, integrity, or correct installation.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Analyze and pinpoint areas, operating principals and functions with a high degree of analytical ability to complete Aircraft Examiner tasks; 2) Utilize complete rework procedures, processing, and work flow techniques to accomplish organizational goals; 3) Interpret and retain information from complex blueprints, specifications, and technical directives; 4) Establish and maintain Individual Qualification Record (IQR) certifications to perform E&E functions; 5) Utilize computer programs used in the accomplishment of E&E tasks such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook to examine, evaluate, analyze, and correlate information.
