About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Serve as the Library Services Platform (LSP) Manager for an Aviation Technical Library (ATL). Maintain the Library's information systems and provide technical support to ensure the Aviation Technical Library and Aviation Learning Center systems are functioning properly. Manage an Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) for an Aviation Learning Center. Manage the administration of the Library's bibliographic utility Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) for cataloging. Repair hardware and other components when malfunctions occur. Serve as ATL and ALC Government Purchase Card Holder. Submit and purchase request using a General Fund Enterprise Business System.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain ComTIA A+ Security Certification within 6 months of appointment.

Specialized Experience: To qualify for this position, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing assistance in performing routine computer maintenance, troubleshooting and restoration of lost data 2) Providing support implementing specialized software; developing, coordinating, processing and transmitting specialized information 3) Providing customer support to patrons to establish user needs and requirements. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal Service (GS-7). OR Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education related to the position to be filled. (Note: you must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR A Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total month of experience by 12. Then divide the total amount of graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
