As a Natural Resource Specialist for the Northeast Region, Partnership Wild and Scenic Rivers Branch, you will collaborate with program partners and other staff to implement the National Park Services' responsibilities under the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
Duties
Provide technical and planning assistance in the development and implementation of River Management Plans
Represent the National Park Service at River Management Council meetings and subcommittees
Implement intergovernmental review processes and procedures for projects affecting wild and scenic rivers systems at the state, local, or Federal levels
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to recommend conservation techniques to protect and preserve wild/scenic rivers
Requirements

Qualifications
In order to be qualified for this position, you must meet both the basic requirement and the minimum qualifications.
Basic Requirement
A. Possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position - OR -
B. Possess a combination of education and experience. This includes courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education
Minimum Qualifications
A. Possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service analyzing scientific data to draw conclusions about the impact of a project or program on a waterway or watershed; recommending changes to programs or policies to reduce or remove their impact on natural resources; and collaborating with stakeholders to implement natural resource related policies and programs - OR -
B. Possess three years progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position - OR -
C. Possess a combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate level education as described in B that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. (Please note: Only graduate education in excess of the first two years may be used in this calculation.)
For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
