About the Position: The Army Medical Logistics Command (AMLC), a major subordinate command of the Army Materiel Command (AMC), focuses on enabling strategic power projection readiness, total force materiel, and supply chain optimization in support of multi-domain operations.
Duties
Provides security oversight and ensures compliance with INFOSEC, antiterrorism and physical security regulations.
Prepares and provides foreign travel security, country and theatre briefings to employees making trips into foreign countries for official business and leisure.
Processes access badges for employees assigned to facility, visitor requests, and coordinates VIP visits and all related physical security and AT measures.
Conducts annual physical security inspections and threat/risk assessments to identify and resolve a variety of security deficiencies. Conducts regular inspections, to include restricted access areas.
Evaluates the effectiveness of existing security practices; researches and recommends the type of control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed.
Coordinates, interprets, and reviews directives issued by higher authority and ensures uniformity in all related security and foreign travel regulations and policies throughout the various programs.
Requirements
- Position requires availability on an occasional basis to respond to security-related incidents outside of normal duty hours.
- Position requires the incumbent to obtain SPeD SFPC certification within 24 months of hire.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain Department of Army Physical Security Inspector credential within 24 months of hire.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain Department of Army Antiterrorism Officer Level II certification within 24 months of hire.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position is designated as a Key Position to ensure continuity in mission and cannot be vacated during war, national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization.
- Civilians in key positions must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligation.
- Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Top Secret-SCI security clearance.
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

Specialized Experience: This position requires one year of specialized experience which includes: (1) providing technical information related to antiterrorism and physical security regulations, policies, procedures and/or directives; (2) conducting security inspections and resolving identified problems; (3) managing a physical security program and performing physical security related duties; and (4) managing an Antiterrorism program and performing antiterrorism related duties.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
