This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and DoD Senior Leadership educational programs.

Duties

Serve as the database administrator for the Geographic Information System (GIS) for the organization. Develop spatial and non-spatial databases for customers inside and outside of organization. Develop and manage Geographic Information System (GIS) engineering training programs for the organization. Serve as the Enterprise Proactive Real-property Interactive Space Management System (ePRISMS) data editor for organization. Customize new datasets to meet requirements where data does not exist.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Required to maintain a valid state and/or Federal Government Driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to TERM NTE two (2) years but may last up to eight (8) years.

Qualifications

This position is a TERM position Not to Exceed 2 years. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes experience such as: 1) Creating and updating Geographic Information Systems data to develop, populate and maintain the Geographic Information Systems, OR 2) Monitoring the daily activities of the Geographic Information Systems; maintaining progress and recommending resources to meet project schedules and mission requirements, OR 3) Assimilating data by digitizing photos, aerial photographs and maps using global positioning systems (GPS) to create new features, OR 4) Providing instruction on a wide variety of Geographic Information Systems topics. ESRI Technical Certificate is preferred but not required.
