This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station Jacksonville. The primary purpose of this position is to provide minor repair and conditioning to the bowling facility and its equipments.
Duties
Makes minor corrective adjustments to the bowling machinery as necessary. Clears ball and pin jams, repairs/replaces foul lights, and performs periodic preventive maintenance on automatic handling equipment such as vacuuming, ball cleaning machines, cleaning turn around pans, ball elevators, and cross conveyors on pinsetters.
Assists with maintaining stock levels and keeping records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment. Replaces burned-out fuses and light bulbs and assists in replacement of electrical fixtures, if required.
Cleans, oils, and conditions lane surfaces. May sweep and mop floors. Dusts furniture and fixtures. Cleans walls and restrooms and replaces washers in faucets, if required. Collects and removes trash.
Advises supervisor/manager of unusual maintenance problems.
Performs other related duties such as performing customer services assistance at the front desk as required.
Requirements
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
- Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
- Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
- Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
- A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
- Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of 32212 at time of application.
- Must have current CPR/First Aide certification or be willing to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must have manual dexterity necessary to make minor corrective adjustments to machinery and replace fixtures.
Ability to operate, control, and clean heavy power equipment and to work safely with heavy tools.
Skill in the use of common hand tools and ability to perform limited preventive maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment and conditioning lane surfaces.
Ability to use common cleaning materials and equipment and to safely operate and adjust bowling equipment.
Ability to instruct or assist customers in the use of automatic scoring equipment.
