About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Deliberate Plans Specialist at the Strategy, Policy, and Plans Directorate-Deliberate Planning Division in Miami, FL.

Duties

Utilize written and oral communication skills to create organized reports and summaries for the delivery of personnel briefings. Negotiate and defend decisions or recommendations regarding program policy issues. Develop operational plans to accomplish organizational missions. Facilitate strategical processes to enhance organizational efficiency regarding contingency exercise response times.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires a Security Clearance at the Top Secret SCI level, as the incumbent will be required to access, process, use and safeguard classified National Defense information.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program).
  • Must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Designated Mission Essential Position: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
  • May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailPlanning and EvaluatingProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
