About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Deliberate Plans Specialist at the Strategy, Policy, and Plans Directorate-Deliberate Planning Division in Miami, FL.
Duties
Utilize written and oral communication skills to create organized reports and summaries for the delivery of personnel briefings.
Negotiate and defend decisions or recommendations regarding program policy issues.
Develop operational plans to accomplish organizational missions.
Facilitate strategical processes to enhance organizational efficiency regarding contingency exercise response times.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a Security Clearance at the Top Secret SCI level, as the incumbent will be required to access, process, use and safeguard classified National Defense information.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program).
- Must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Designated Mission Essential Position: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
- May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Develop plans to accomplish organizational missions related to contingency/crisis response(s); 2). Prepare correspondence for personnel briefings reflecting operational strategies; and 3). Conduct research regarding areas of concern identifying key variables to provide solutions to overcome mission obstacles.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
