This position is located in the United States Coast, Director of Operational Logistics, Office of Base Operations (DOL-3), Base Logistic Div, in Mobile, Alabama.

Duties

In this position you will serve as a Distribution Facilities Specialist, responsible for ensuring proper materials management is executed to achieve and maintain an optimized supply chain and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) compliance.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team.  Typical work assignments include:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires lifting items weighing up to 40lbs.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.  Some examples of specialized experience are: Conducting physical inventories; receiving and screening documents; initiating, preparing, editing and processing requisitions to stock; contacting customers or others to obtain materials status information or expedite delivery.. Preparing materials for shipment ensuring compliance with all applicable HAZMAT regulations, tracking, and due-in management. Conducting inventories and reconciliation and inspecting material. Providing assistance and advice to unit personnel on the availability of material and the resolution of discrepancies. OR master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related OR A combination of successfully completed graduate education beyond the first full year of graduate level education and experience.   Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
