You will serve as an INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT in the OFFICE of the FLEET INSPECTOR GENERAL (N01IG) of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Duties

You will perform administrative support functions to include maintaining records, reviewing and reading incoming correspondence to determine proper action and prepare outgoing correspondence. You will set up meetings and conferences, prepare travel arrangements, and as minor property coordinator, requisition supplies and equipment. You will provide Inspection program support, and external oversight program support. You will assist with interviews, download recordings of interviews, and process them for transcription. You will prepare official navy correspondence, determine proper action, and draft routine responses for support to Fleet IG leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

For the GS-07 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing investigation or technical support work (such as, evaluating records in relation to investigative requirements; coordinating or scheduling interviews; preparing or reviewing audit reports; uploading evidence documents into an automated system; editing and finalizing correspondence; answering technical inquiries) in an office environment to meet mission goals. For the GS-06 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative support functions (such as, using automated computer systems; receiving complaints; drafting responses to complainants; maintaining files; proofreading and finalizing correspondence; establishing controls for deadlines; planning interviews) in an office environment to meet mission goals. GS-07: Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.

GS-06: Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.
