This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director (OD), Office of Intramural Research (OIR) in the Office of Intramural Training & Education (OITE).
Duties
As a Supervisory Science Education Coordinator, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
Identifies and analyzes OITE needs and requirements, oversees or conducts analytical studies and research, performs cost-benefit analysis, sets timelines, implements procedures, documents processes, and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures.
Evaluates broad intramural policy issues and relevant data, and gathers, maintains, and analyzes scientific, academic, legislative, economic, social, public interest, and other information relevant to the conduct of training in intramural research at the NIH.
Prepares and/or facilitates the preparation of special reports which may be in response to specific inquiries from Agency and Department officials, Congress, or national organizations.
Recommends contract modifications to the Contract Officer, interprets the statement of work and any other technical performance requirements, performs technical evaluation in accordance with contract requirements, performs technical inspections and acceptances required by the contract, and assists in the successful resolution of technical problems encountered during the performance period.
Serves an integral role in the development of NIH policy and practices in the recruitment, development, advancement, and treatment of trainees and applicants.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for the Supervisory Science Education Coordinator position at the GS-15 level: You must have successfully completed a full 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).
AND
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: advising senior management on training programs and training needs for various workplace related topics (i.e., biomedical research; trainee wellness and mental health; incivility, bullying, harassment, and diversity); creating and executing employee training initiatives ; planning, organizing, implementing, and directing employee training programs; and identifying trends and emerging problems in training-related areas and developing policies, standards and procedures for research education programs.
