Duties

This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG).

Requirements

• NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance within one year of appointment.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Continued employment in this position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the mandatory training specifically identified for the position.
• Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.
• If selectee fails to process the school application and does not successfully graduate from the school, he/she will be terminated from the technician program for failure to meet the compatibility standards and receive a 30 days notice of separation.

Qualifications

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e. member of the PR Air NG, civilian, active duty Soldier, prior service, member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the ARNG Recruiting and Retention Superintendent (RRS) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008 to request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = All permanent Enlisted members employees (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 2 = All indefinite Enlisted members employees (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 5 = Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Area 6 = Applicants who meet all requirements to become member of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. (If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened.) First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. DUTIES: As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (D0561000), GS-2005-6, you will provide services in support of inventory control, storage, and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is primary sedentary, however, there may be walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items and/or files. No special physical demands required. WORK ENVIROMENT: Work is typically performed indoors in an environment requiring normal safety precautions typical of an office setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-05 or the equivalent TWELVE (12) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as reviewing existing stock catalogs and drawings; maintaining contact with program representatives and other offices on special program requirements; reviewing requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material; inventorying management of decentralized and decontrolled items; working experience in one or more automated supply databases and the structure of a supply organization and the organizations serviced; establishing supply regulations, policies and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
