Duties

You will supervise/oversee all aspects of the planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated prevention programs at the installation, command, and/or unit level. You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of assignment difficulty and requirements, and the employee capabilities, and privileging status. You will organize, set and monitor workflow of the Integrated Prevention Program. You will serve as an advisor and technical prevention expert to commands on the installation for Integrated Prevention Programs. You will direct the development of methods and techniques required for prevention program execution, leveraging academia, research and industry, as needed.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of the social sciences as related to integrated prevention programs in order to evaluate, consult, and advise in a variety of settings; 2) Conducting effective prevention program activities to prevent destructive/problematic behaviors and promote healthy climate; 3) Leading collaborative efforts with diverse internal and external stakeholders and foster buy-in for crosscutting efforts to include senior leader support and advocacy; and 4) Identifying needs, trends, and performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for process improvements. Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
