About the Position: This position is located at the 78th MDG, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 78th Occupational Medical Services (OMS) Flight, ensuring the OMS complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets patient needs.
Assigns work to employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.
Coordinate all occupational health care issues with primary care providers and subspeciality providers/clinics, assuring optimal quality, access, and cost efficiency.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities including employee appraisals, performance expectations, hiring, and employee development.
Identifies requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level, which includes developing and/or initiating plans or programs to improve access to care for patients; assigning work to other employees; and utilizing medical databases. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
