About the Position: Serves as the Corps Program Manager for the National Hurricane Program (NHP) responsible for the overall management, control, development, coordination and execution of the entire NHP which includes flood risk management and other coastal initiatives.
Duties
Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements.
Determine short- or long-term valuable goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
Apply a mastery of knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or valuable projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance with regards to water, natural, and water resources.
Expresses ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others; facilitates an open exchange of ideas.
Expresses facts and ideas in writing in a succinct and organized manner.
Applies knowledge of principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance, quality control, and reliability used to ensure that a project, system, or product fulfills requirements and standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Incumbent is required to travel up to 30% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes skill in project and program management; experience with water resources or coastal planning laws, regulations and policies; experience with teamwork and issue resolution; experience with oral and written communication. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
