About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Center.
Position is Regular Full Time. Guaranteed minimum 35 hours with benefits package to include medical, life, retirement, and 401k.
Duties
Under direct supervision of the Chief, Community Services Flight and within broad regulations and guidelines, plans and directs the day-to-day operations of Arts & Crafts. Programs ensuring multi-skills shop, engraving shop, frame shop, wood shop comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Plans, organizes, conducts, and evaluates a wide array of skills development programs: Enforces facility/equipment usage requirements and limitations. Arranges for marketing & advertising for skills development programs. Identifies, develops, promotes and evaluates a wide variety of industrial and fine arts and crafts programs and activities with wood skills, picture framing, engraving, crafts such as quilting, knitting, pottery, ceramics, stained glass, porcelain dolls and fine arts such as painting, drawing and calligraphy. Resolves customer inquiries /complaints. Supervises and evaluates subordinate employees. Develops statistics data on customer trends and participation through the use of customer surveys, focus groups, comment cards, and employee suggestions which are used to purchase new rental items and to assist in the development of long range capital improvement and purchase plans. Uses computer software for cash accountability, and inventory control. Prepares operating and capital budgets incorporating anticipated staffing, fee structures and new programs. Develops NAF Budget, File Plan, BER, and unfunded requirements documents. Assumes duties as building, equipment, and property custodian. Performs all other duties assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Substantial experience in the financial operation of a fund generating operation and experience in funds accountability and budgeting. Be able to effectively plan and organize work and follow management procedures, directives, regulations, and technical orders. Possess good communication skills, both orally and in writing. Have experience in personal computer operation including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
