THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST T32, Position Description Number PDD1254000 and is part of the AZ CSMS, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located with the Combined Surface Maintenance Shop (CSMS) in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of the work is to analyze and evaluate ground maintenance operations, production, and procedures for programmatic regulations and requirements; and make recommendations for improvement. This requires practical knowledge of, and skill in applying, principles, concepts, and methods of surface maintenance equipment, facilities, and service operations. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

Requirements

• ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the (CSMS).
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• May be required to work other than normal duty hours.
• Incumbent must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
• Applicants must be able to gain and maintain access to all required systems and the AZ-ARNG Network.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted: E5/SGT-E9/CSM/SGM Warrant Officer Candidate (WOC) Warrant Officer: WO1/Warrant Officer- CW3/Chief Warrant Officer 3 Compatible Military Assignments: Enlisted: 88, 91, 92, & 94 SERIES Warrant Officer: 88, 91, 92, and 94 series SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in designing projects or planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc. Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of ground equipment maintenance operations and procedures and the applicable safety, occupational health, and hazardous waste programs that influence maintenance management decisions. Experience in implementing or overseeing a safety, occupational health, or hazardous waste program for a maintenance facility. Experience using computer and automation systems.
