Duties
Supervises various employees ranging from WG-06 through GS-11, which includes supervisory and non-supervisory positions.
Directs, coordinates, and supervises assigned organization units of the Material Movement Branch, which includes the shipping and receiving departments.
Ensures material received and offered for shipment is verified for correctness of quantity and type.
Coordinates resolutions when customer service and material support issues arise.
Reviews new policies for functional implementation to ensure optimum material support for customers.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive set of management plans, contingencies, and statistical information regarding specific projects, tasks, actions, and logistical operations.
Represents DLA Maritime Portsmouth concerning Material Movement Branch matters with other shipyard departments and participates in Shipyard and command level conferences, committees, meetings, and teams.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Planning initiatives that may affect supply operations.
Using Federal, commercial supply and inventory systems in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Conducting functional systems analysis to analyze, develop, document and evaluate complex functional systems.
Recommending process-specific improvements to daily routines/operations.
Conducting internal audits and providing formalized responses to higher-level external audits.
Expediting service based on rapidly changing customer priorities.

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
