You will serve as a Museum Education Specialist of US SUBMARINE FORCE MUSEUM.

Duties

You will develop program lesson plans in accordance with Connecticut curriculum standards You will coordinate programming with local school districts You will plan and organize a volunteer program You will evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement You will develop and adapt age-appropriate materials for effective presentations.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating professional knowledge of elementary and secondary education methodology, cognitive development principles, concepts, and theories to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to enhance the museum experience. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Coordinating the conceptual and physical development of educational products and exhibition components; 2) Performing research, budgeting, and implementation of educational programs in a museum setting; 3) Utilizing innovative methods and approaches to engage a diverse audience in inquiry-based activities.
