Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Criminal Investigation, Systems and Operational Support, Refund and Cyber Crimes
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-05 LEVEL: To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below.
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing technical support to inspections or investigations such as searching, gathering, screening, and providing factual information or explanations related to the subject of an inspection or investigation or to the compliance program itself. The work must have included activities such as obtaining background information on subjects of inspections or investigation by means of record searches, structured interviews, automated information retrieval, telephone inquiries, or correspondence. Experience using computers, computer systems and software application to collect data and prepare required reports. Experience clearly and concisely expressing facts and conclusions.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Four (4) years above high school level in any field of study from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 06: To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below.
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Providing technical support to inspections or investigations such as searching, gathering, screening, reviewing, and providing factual information or explanations related to the subject of an inspection or investigation or to the compliance program itself. Work must include activities such as obtaining background information on subjects of inspection or investigation by means of record searches, structured interviews, automated information retrieval, telephone inquiries, or correspondence. Experience clearly and concisely expressing facts and conclusions to summarize data obtained from various sources. Experience using computers, computer systems and software application to collect data and prepare required reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS 07: To be eligible for this position at this grade level, you must meet the requirements below.
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to GS 06 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience providing technical support to inspections or investigations such as searching, gathering, screening, reviewing, providing factual information or explanations related to the subject of an inspection or investigation or to the compliance program itself, making preliminary analyses of raw data; and evaluating authenticity of technical detail to assist in identifying potential illicit schemes. The work includes activities such as obtaining background information on subjects of inspections or investigation by means of record searches, structured interviews, automated information retrieval, telephone inquiries, or correspondence. Experience using computers, computer systems and software application to collect data and prepare required reports. Experience clearly and concisely expressing facts and conclusions to summarize data obtained from various sources.
AND
MEET TIME IN GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GS-06 AND GS-07: You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible. To meet TIG for positions above the GS-05 grade level, you must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to. Advancement to positions up to GS-05 is permitted if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade held within the preceding 52 weeks.
AND
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: By the closing date (or if this is an open continuous announcement, by the cut-off date) specified in this job announcement, current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. For this requirement, a competitive appointment is one where you applied to and were appointed from an announcement open to "All US Citizens".
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.
