Degree: A Bachelor's degree or higher in History; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Conducting research in Asia, identifying relevant materials in foreign archives; Detailing progress investigative research and outlining steps to be taken; and Explaining research findings for varying audiences. You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Participating in peer reviews; Analyzing primary source materials, to prepare a doctoral dissertation or similar, such as published peer-reviewed article, that meticulously present original research findings and conclusions; and Organizing, tracking, and accounting for documents and sources reviewed or collected in a large-scale research project. Quality Ranking Factor(s): Quality Ranking factors are knowledge, skills, or abilities that are highly desired by the hiring manager, though not required. Applicants who possess the quality ranking factors can be ranked above those who do not. Relevant quality ranking factor experience must be well documented in your resume. This position contains the following quality ranking factor(s): Proficiency in a foreign language (other than English). Note: Proficiency in a language spoken in Asia is highly desired over others to complete research related tasks. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
