About the Position: This position is located in Presidio, CA. The Army Medical Home is designed around one core principle: Putting patients first. The Army Medical Home is Army Medicine's gateway to influence the "life space" where patients make decisions on the key determinants of health and wellness - sleep, activity, and nutrition The incumbent will perform clerical and technical work in support of administrative/operational requirements of the California Medical Detachment.

Duties

Prepare correspondence, memos, and reports. Format documents to ensure all provided materials are free of grammatical errors. Use of word processor and computer terminal within office setting. Perform a variety of receptionist and other clerical and administrative function. Schedule physician appointments for a variety of examinations. Follow up on suspense dates to ensure that required actions and responses are made within deadlines.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes providing general office clerical support in any of the following categories: organizational clerical work, receiving and screening customers and visitors by priority and current needs; using office automation software (word processing, spreadsheet, and databases); and screening incoming calls and communicating via electronic, written, and verbal mediums. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
