This position is located at the Red Lake Indian Health Service in Red Lake, MN. The purpose of the position is to work alone or as a member of a crew to perform the full range of custodial duties in assigned areas of the hospital, following general instructions on the work to be completed.

Duties

Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors. Keeps rest rooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Keeps Instrument shops, offices, and public area clean and orderly. Stores stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the Federal Wage System (FWS) Job Grading Standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Performing routine janitorial and custodial work such as sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors; washing windows and walls; dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures; and emptying waste cans. Work that is done by hand or with powered equipment such as power scrubbers and buffers. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
