THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Supervisory Navigator (Instructor), Position Description Number PDD2310000 and is part of the WY 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as chief of the function and as such, is responsible for all navigational support provided by wing and assignment will be within 153d Airlift Wing (AW) Plans section and will report to the 153 AW's Vice Commander. (1) Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs and controls the activities of unit navigators/electronic warfare officers in the 153 AW. (2) Develops and monitors the 153 AW's navigation ground and flight training program. Monitors the instruction of and personally instructs navigators in all phases of both initial aircrew qualification training and mission training. (3) As required, serves as standardization/evaluation flight examiner. Periodically examines assigned navigators over land and water flights to determine the degree of proficiency and adherence to standard directives. (4) As required, flies as mission-ready rated navigator in unit aircraft. Maintains proficiency in unit's mission requirements. (4) Develops unit deliberate planning for implementation of wartime, base and national tasking. Maintains detailed wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements for unit mobility, deployment, strange field operations/employment, and redeployment of the unit. Coordinates with the gaining command, National Guard Burean and appropriate theater headquarters. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2 and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153d Airlift Wing Staff. Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior service military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. TECHNICIAN INFO Type of Appointment: Permanent Tenure: Group 1 or 2 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm FLSA: Exempt Telework: The duties of this position require primary physical presence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 36 months experience, education or training that has required you to obtain information on type of mission, weather and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided a knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems. Experience that shows your ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions. Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel AND you must have completed the necessary hours required for your current airframe. (ex. 1000 hours total navigation time which includes 200 hours' time in the C-130). Must possess certification as a qualified Navigator Instructor. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. CERTIFICATION REQUIRMENT: Qualifications for this position require the Navigator/CSO to have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT). MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess AFSC 12M3B, Mobility Combat Systems Officer DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid driver's license.
