About the Position: The incumbent will Serves as a Management and Program Specialist providing technical advice to the Commanding General regarding on all matters pertaining to Joint Base San Antonio programs, operations, logistics, readiness, and technical issues. **Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 3 years by a current permanent Army employee**

Duties

Coordinate, implements, and executes administrative programs at highest levels of the organization, including analyzing and preparing responses to external taskers and developing responses to data calls. Conducts monthly synchronization meetings in the support of installation operations and related activities. Review and issues Operation Orders and daily Fragmentary Orders (FRAGO) on behalf of Senior Army Element Commander to Installation mission partners in accordance with AR600-20, paragraph 5. Monitors schedule for special projects and areas of emphasis as prescribed by Chief of Staff. Provide expert technical guidance and direction for execution of Key Leader Engagements (KLE) and events.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to perform over 25% of duties in a temporary duty travel status in connection with homeland security/homeland defense operations, planning or exercises.
  • Overtime may be required on short notice.
  • Shift work may be required on a 24/7 basis and also may be necessary during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
  • Incumbent may be required to temporarily work extended and irregularly tours of duty to include days, nights, shifts and weekend.
  • A Secret security clearance is needed for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes investigating and analyzing a variety of difficult problem questions or conditions associated with overall administrative management operations; Conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on operating programs and functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
