Duties

Monitors and evaluates systems' compliance with IT security requirements. Provides advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation systems. Participates in policy and procedure development to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data. Enforces security policies and safeguards on all personnel having access to the automated information system (AIS). Assists with planning, development and implementation a DoD wide security program which supports DFAS Headquarters financial management and information technology goals and objectives. Manages and administers data, program and user security standards for the protection of resources. Analyzes systems concepts, specifications, and trouble reports to determine impact on assigned functions, feasibility, and interaction interrelationship with other civilian pay or time and attendance subsystems.

Specialized experience is defined as Developing and implementing IT security techniques and risk prevention methods to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities; and monitoring and evaluating systems' compliance with IT security requirements. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).
