About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Network Enterprise Center in Fort Sill. OK.
Duties
Responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing telecommunications projects.
Resolving telephone trouble calls, fire, and special alarm circuit problems.
Inspect and test all power equipment, circuit switchboards, relays and other components.
Install and maintain coax cabling and electronic equipment supporting the Local Area Network
Utilize telephone trade tools, installers' test set, voltmeter circuit transmission tester and other testing equipment.
Requirements
- Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance
- Three-year probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent may be issued and held accountable for one or more of the following: cellular phone, technical equipment, and/or government travel card to conduct official business.
- This position may require the incumbent to occasionally travel up to 10% of time away from normal duty station.
- The incumbent is required to work overtime, other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and call-back, and emergency shift work.
- May be required to work shift work if the organization moves to a 24/7 operation.
- Employee may be required to use cellular telephone and maintain a working telephone at all times.
- This position requires incumbent to maintain a valid driver's license. Must have skill to operate a
vehicle up to 8 tons.
- A pre-employment physical examination is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40Ibs and work at heights up to 75 feet above ground.
- Work requires the employee to lift equipment, climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, and work in environments with fluctuating temperatures.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by installing and maintaining various types of telecommunication equipment; reading and interpreting circuit schematic diagrams for in-house wiring diagram and other planned installations; and installing cable according to color code.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
