You will serve as a INSULATOR SUPERVISOR I in the Pipe Shop (Code 960), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department(Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will be responsible for the quantity and quality of the work performed by subordinates. You will apply thorough expert knowledge of the methods, techniques, processes, procedures, tools, materials, and practices of the insulator trade. You will be proficient in evaluation of skills of the team members. You will implement high performance organization attributes as learned through training and understanding and deployment of the shipyard strategic plan. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools provided through he AIM process for assigned units of work. You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences. You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall scheduled requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Demonstrating experience with current basic nuclear trade skill qualifications applicable to the insulator trade to lead a team of trade journeyman in the performance of complex repairs and alterations including but not limited to manufacture, repair, installation, test and Inspection of components and other processes and functions under the Insulator Trade. Ensuring production schedules are executed by assigning personnel that have current qualifications to perform task within their position description and monitoring required training courses and medical evaluations while adhering to applicable employee union rights. Implementing methods to individual journeyman that promote growth and continuous learning, communicating performance evaluations and providing feedback to work leaders and journeyman. Demonstrating the use of the Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) process for assigned unit of work and establishing deadlines, priorities work sequences. Reviewing work plans and communicating work assignments to subordinate work leaders.
