The Copier/Duplicating Equipment Operator position is located at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond, Virginia. The incumbent serves as the Duplicator for Supply Chain Management Service to set up, operate, maintain and monitor various copiers and other equipment to furnish reproduction services throughout the medical center.

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for all photocopy and reproduction requests supporting Central Virginia VA Health Care System. Reproduces and assembles forms, letters, bulletins, memorandums, rosters, directives, flyers, booklets, and informational pamphlets. Provides technical training for operating reproduction equipment to employees who serve as alternates in the absence of the incumbent. Performs technical adjustments to correct a variety of problems and coordinates major service calls with factory representatives and Engineering Service at this facility. Performs routine maintenance such as clean up, lubrication, color adjustments, toner replacements and reloading of binding tapes, staples, fuser agents and dry ink containers. Reviews all hand delivered projects, selecting the most economical means of production for the required finished product. Determines paper type, size, and page layout to achieve desired results and recommends necessary changes to complete the project. Determines quantities required for targeted recipients and suggests changes to eliminate wasted resources and unnecessary distribution. Most importantly, is the process of validating that no copyright laws are overtly or inadvertently violated. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM - 4:00PM. Grade Determinations: GS4 References: Position Description 031470; OPM PCS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR SERIES, GS-350 The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-4. Physical Requirements: Work in this position requires some physical exertion such as extended periods of standing, frequent bending, reaching, stooping, or similar activities necessary to setup, operate, adjust, and monitor the operations of equipment. The incumbent lifts, on a recurring basis, a variety of moderately heavy materials and supplies such as boxes of chemicals, record boxes, boxes of cards and envelopes, cartons of film; occasionally the employee may be required to lift heavy (over 50 pounds) items such as large stacks of paper stock.
