You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect in the Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC. This position can be filled by these series: 0801,0804,0808,0810, 0830,0850

Duties

You will approve funds allocation, budgetary controls, and cradle-to-grave project execution to ensure smooth operability. You will prepare reports (e.g., fact sheets, issue papers, decision documents) relevant to current projects or programs. You will anticipate risks or problems in engineering proposals to develop solutions or mitigation strategies. You will develop plans and make written and oral presentations to various interested personnel on program status, technical problems, scheduling, and costs.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER'S license or ARCHITECT registration.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0801, 0804, 0810, 0830, or 0850 series. You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Provides Program Management oversight and support to the overall management and execution of a POL program; 2) Provides oversight of POL acquisition strategies and planning/execution of POL programs; 3) Ensures resolution of execution challenges , including client relationships and technically complex project-specific issues; 4) Advocates for resources and project funds and manages allocations in support of POL functions; and 5) Integrates planning and project development and environmental planning services prior to design/construction.
