You will serve as a Fuel Distribution Systems Worker in the Fuels Section/ Fuel Delivery Division of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.
Duties
You will perform a range of activities to receive, transfer, and issue fuel and liquid oxygen and nitrogen.
You will operate pumps, filters, valves, and pipelines.
You will read meters and gauges.
You will operate refueling vehicles up to 35 tons.
You will document all activity using basic math to calculate the amount of product received and issued.
You will use calibration charts to convert product quantities from feet to gallons and adjust for temperatures.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 40lbs.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid Class B (or higher) Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Hazmat Endorsement.
- You are required to provide documentation that supports the eligibility and qualification claims made in your resume and assessment questionnaire including proof of your Class B (or higher) CDL.
- You must obtain and maintain state and /or government operator licenses, certifications, and permits for all assigned vehicles and equipment, and motor vehicles.
- You will required work outdoors, including in inclement weather.
- You will be required to climb ladders up to 30 feet for work on fuel storage tanks.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications

I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
