You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT, COMMERICAL ACCOUNTS DIVISION of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties
You will be responsible for the processing and correction of accounts payable transactions.
You will obtain, examine and apply regulatory guidance to determine the legal status of payment vouchers and invoices prior to payment.
You will perform in depth audits to identify and eliminate variances between multiple accounting system records.
You will research or investigate problems or errors that require complex reconstruction of financial records.
Requirements

- Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
DG-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DG-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Processing accounting transactions; 2) Applying regulatory guidance to determine the legal status of payment vouchers and invoices; 3) Interpreting data to identify problems and determining the nature of a problem or issue.
DG-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DG-02) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Utilizing Microsoft Office suite programs (specifically Excel and Adobe Acrobat); 2) Researching financial issues and collaborating with the senior Technician and/or Analyst for resolution; 3) Demonstrating some experience with financial tasking.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
4 years above high school
