Duties

Review and corrects deficiencies found in incoming, unedited, and uncoded draft Law Enforcement Reports (LER). Exercise extensive technical knowledge of legal/police terminology, regulations, procedures and processes governing administrative functions. Perform a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support of the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES). Demonstrate a variety of customer service skills, assists walk-in visitors and answers telephonic inquires related to Law Enforcement Reports (LER).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain being a Notary for the State of Alabama, for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases.
  • This job requires the skill of a fully qualified typist.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
