This position is located in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Mission Area is USDA's focal point for the nation's farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners.
The incumbent serves as the central point of contact for a wide range of administrative, office support, and clerical functions for the supervisor and others as assigned.
Duties
Serves as the central point of contact for a wide range of administrative, office support, and clerical functions for the supervisor and others as assigned.
Provides program support to identify and resolve problems concerning assigned areas of responsibility.
Keeps management officials updated on new capabilities and process improvements.
Maintains comprehensive databases and responds to inquiries from sources internal and external to NRCS.
Provides a full range of administrative and technical duties in support of all phases of the NRCS service-wide programs.
Cross- references travel voucher claims with the National Finance Center monthly reports to verify payments.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
GS-07
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
Maintaining program filing/case system, adhere to filing requirements, distribution of documents, and intake of completed reports;
Preparing and processing travel audits and local travel claim for reimbursements; and
Assuring accurate inventory of accountable and sensitive property/equipment.
GS-08
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
Processing and monitoring directives, policies, procedures, guidelines, and subscriptions to ensure the office environment is informed;
Preparing and processing travel audits and local travel claim for reimbursements;
Assuring accurate inventory of accountable and sensitive property/equipment; and
Preparing property transfers, assigning to staff, and making recommendations for security of personal property.
