You will serve as a Student Trainee (Information Tech) in the Corporate Operations Directorate (COD), of NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This appointment is temporary Not to Exceed 5 years. Duties

You will assist in the installation of new and revised commercial off-the-shelf software packages. You will update databases, web interfaces, and public facing websites. You will map drives, printers, other peripherals according to user needs. You will provide assistance to staff in using various computer equipment and software serving as independent first or second level user support. You will write, maintain, and modify software scripts. You will serve as backup for scripting issues.

For the GS-04 Grade Level: To be eligible for the GS-2299-04, you must meet the following level of education requirement: You must have successfully completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an associate's degree. For the GS-05 Grade Level: To be eligible for the GS-2299-05, you must meet the following level of education requirement: You must have successfully completed 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
